Grade your Google Business Profile
Enter your business name and city. We pull your real Google Maps signals — reviews, rating, category, NAP — and grade you A-F against the rubric that decides who wins the map pack.
What this grader checks
Your Google Business Profile is the single biggest map-pack ranking signal. We pull it live from Google Maps and grade it on the five things that actually move map-pack rank:
The rubric
- Reviews count (30 pts) — 10+ is the trust threshold; 25+ looks established; 50+ is competitive in most markets.
- Average rating (25 pts) — target 4.5+. Below 4.0 actively suppresses rank.
- Category specificity (20 pts) — "Sports medicine clinic" beats "Medical clinic" by roughly 20% of map-pack weight.
- NAP basics (15 pts) — name + address + phone all present and consistent.
- Photos (10 pts) — listings with 20+ photos get 35% more clicks per Google's own data.
What this tool does NOT check
- NAP consistency across other directories (Yelp, Facebook, BBB) — that's part of our free full audit.
- Map Pack rank across your service area — needs our platform tier (weekly 5×5 geo-grid).
- Review velocity (how fast you're getting new reviews) — needs continuous tracking.
- Whether your GBP is verified — Google doesn't expose that publicly. Log in to business.google.com to confirm.
Why we ask for city + state
Google Maps returns different listings depending on where you search from. We use your city + state to mimic a search from that area, so we grade what your actual customers see — not what shows up at our server's location.
